About Dr. Joe Rustum
Meet Dr. Joe Rustum
I work with people who are used to carrying a lot.
Many of my clients are responsible, capable, and used to keeping things moving. From the outside, life may look successful or put together. Privately, though, they may feel anxious, burned out, self-critical, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
My style is direct, thoughtful, and collaborative. I do not think therapy should feel like talking in circles. It should help you slow down, understand what is happening, and begin making changes that fit your actual life.
Sometimes that means working through anxiety, burnout, overthinking, perfectionism, or relationship patterns. Sometimes it means sorting through career pressure, family strain, or a major decision that has become difficult to make clearly.
The work is practical, but it also goes deeper than quick advice. I want to understand the patterns underneath the problem while staying connected to how those patterns show up in your real life.
Many of the people I work with carry responsibility in their work, family, community, or public life. Therapy provides a private place to think clearly about what is happening without having to manage how it looks.
I provide therapy in Nashville and online therapy for clients in over 40 states through PSYPACT.
